Batanes here we come!
Posted by tekgik under News, Travel, kaBlog
Travelling time of the year with the family. We contemplated on going to Thailand but on the last minute we decided Batanes instead.
Batanes is the Scottlandia of the Philippines.
We are excited but felt bad since this will be the first time my brother and sis-in-law will not be around. We will surely miss their absence.

Finger disability… bloody!
Posted by tekgik under kaBlog
I have a cut on my left thumb right now. I accidentally slipped a paper cutter last week while mounting our fine art prints to the acrylic panels. Its funny because I was telling Mon not to use the cutter towards his body, he gets cut after that “nabati” then I continued what he was doing.. and after few seconds I slipped the cutter and my cut is deeper and longer. Oh blooooody! so blooody..
Im still lucky that the left thumb was the one who got cut. I still able to rotate the zoom of my lenses with two of my recent shoots last sunday and monday. Its healing now and hopefully will get better by the time of my workshop this weekends.
Sorry for this gross story.

Von voyage my brother!
Posted by tekgik under People, kaBlog
Heres my brother Rommel & his wife Len (together with their consultant Alvin on center) ready to go inside the airport this morning. They will study and will take their chances in London. We already missed these two crazy-jolly persons, we are used to be with them wherever we eat, shop & travel in the world. We are actually quite hesitant now in pursuing our Batanes trip without them. It seems hard to accept the reality and we will always remember our good times together. We never expected that this will happen sooner than we thought.
Well we know that they will survive together, whatever challenges they may encounter.
“Uy namiss namin kayo agad, kung nababasa nyo to”
Next year we will visit you there bro & sis ! Lets photograph the whole London & the rest of Europe

I sold my Sigma 70-200 f2.8 lens last week. I have no telephoto lens to use and was really contemplating on what lens to get. Canon 70-200 f2.8 L or 70-200 f2.8 L IS? With all that research and sleepless nights I bought a new one last Monday, the Canon EF 70-200 f2.8 L IS version. I closed my eyes signed the check and bought the lens…Whoa! Goodbye good earned moolah!
Well, the Sigma served me well! Very well! It is true that its not the equipment nor the technology but after using this bazooka lens, I kinda disagree. This lens is a remarkable one, it is sharp at f2.8 wide end (70mm) and especially on the long end (200mm). The Image Stabilizer really helps and it will give you sharper images. The output photos are more punchier because of the better contrast from its glass. And yo-yeah its Bokehlicious among the Canon 70-200 family. Almost No CA (Chromatic Aberration). These are the image characteristics that I’ve been longing from my Sigma since 2003.
Watch out for my Miss Earth 2008 press presentation pics soon. Images are from the lovely 70-200 2.8 IS without PP only cropping on some.
Thanks to Jan Tan of JT Photo World for reserving me the last one.
