Storage and micro storage
Posted by tekgik under kaBlog, Tech
Who said digital is cheaper?
Another 1TB in my WD family of My Books total of 3TB . This time i bought the green boxed WD which is the USB only model. This is P1,600 cheaper and it will only serve as my Time Machine HD.
Also, i upgraded my e71′s micro SD card to 4gb. I noticed it slower to respond.
Oh well living hi-tech is not cheap

Worldwide recall of Apple Macbook Pro with Nvidia Display Card
Posted by tekgik under kaBlog, News, Tech
Apple is offering free refund, repair of Macbook Pro.
Read below from Apple Support
Symptoms
In July 2008, NVIDIA publicly acknowledged a higher than normal failure rate for some of their graphics processors due to a packaging defect. At that same time, NVIDIA assured Apple that Mac computers with these graphics processors were not affected. However, after an Apple-led investigation, Apple has determined that some MacBook Pro computers with the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics processor may be affected. If the NVIDIA graphics processor in your MacBook Pro has failed, or fails within two years of the original date of purchase, a repair will be done free of charge, even if your MacBook Pro is out of warranty.
What to look for:
- Distorted or scrambled video on the computer screen
- No video on the computer screen (or external display) even though the computer is on
Specific products affected:
- MacBook Pro 15-inch and 17-inch models with NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics processors
- MacBook Pro (17-Inch, 2.4GHz)
- MacBook Pro (15-Inch, 2.4/2.2GHz)
- MacBook Pro (Early 2008)
- These computers were manufactured between approximately May 2007 and September 2008

2.3 terabytes.. not enough
Posted by tekgik under kaBlog, Tech
I now have a total of 2.3 TB external storage.
2 pcs 1TB Western Digital My Book Studio
1pc 320GB 2.5″ Western Digital Passport.
Amazingly enough is not enough. I need to buy another one probably this coming month in preparation for my pre-ordered EOS 50D (15MP) and EOS 5D Mark II (21MP). These two storage monster will be eating a lot of my existing storage. Again digital photography is not cheap, so for the starting professional photographers out there, charge appropirately this is often overlooked when costing out total investment.
I probably need to buy something like this.
