National Motocross Cup Round 8
Posted by tekgik under kaBlog, Sports
Last Sunday, I shoot in the National Motocross Cup Round 8 at San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. At last for the longest time, i’ve been wanting shooting in this kind of sporting event.
I didnt know that my kababayan Kenneth San Andres is outrageously fast driving his 2 wheeled monster! WOW he flies! He even beat the old time champion Jovie Saulog!
Thanks to my Ninong Nick Fernando for letting me know of this event, his construction company was the one who developed the Internationally designed race track together with Archt. Yuson.

Panning at night
Posted by tekgik under Nightscape, Sports, Tips & Tricks
Its quite challenging to have more shutter speed at night, again praises with the low noise levels of the Canon 5d, I managed to have an adequate shutter speed to have a decent panning of this motor cycle.

I prepared my self to click on it before he gas up more.

Horse Race at Sta. Ana, Manila
Posted by tekgik under kaBlog, Sports
The last day of testing of EOS 1d Mark III… I called up my friend Raffy Yllana if he can get us in any horse race track i told him im a little frustrated on looking for sporting event since im not very satisfied with last sunday’s Padyak Pinoy race. I felt im not making the Mark III’s worth. Luckily i know Raffy that have great connection to anything we were able to go and shoot inside Sta. Ana race track (the old race track). First time to enter into this kind of track, first time also to shoot this kind of event. One of the unique places to photograph, we requested if can also shoot at the stable and the jockeys.

The rain poured hard as if theres no stopping. But the race must go on. See below

The Mark III showed its power. At 10 FPS and fast AF handled the fast horses very well. I pushed its ISO to 3200 and results was fantastic. Il mirror my final review here.

Transportshow 2007
Posted by tekgik under kaBlog, Sports
This is the time of the year for events like this, last month was the Motor Show and then a numerous races at Batangas and Subic race tracks. I really didnt plan going to the transportshow but i was invited to go to an Exhibit of a friend Ross Capili famous Painter+Photographer+Digital Artist. And coincidentally there are some thought in my mind going there to shoot for something new inside the show. Since i start started photography, i always go to this kind of show but eventually after seeing/shooting same kind of subjects year after year i was tired and decided “Its enough” and after several years.. here i go again..
