Leaked specs of the rumored Canon EOS 40D

Posted by tekgik under News, Tech

Amazon.com accidentally or intentionally (we never know) leaked the specs of the rumored Canon EOS 40D here . Unfortunately the page is now down.

I found this from PiPho posted by catterpillar & pubert.

I highlighted the notable differences from its predecessor the EOS 30D.

-DIGIC III - probably same low noise ISO like 1dmk3
-it says “Enhanced Live View” it now has AF
-weather sealing
-cross type AF
-”The EOS 40D camera’s completely redesigned nine-point AF sensor provides cross-type AF
-”For the first time in any EOS camera, the 40D model offers Auto ISO capability in Creative Zone exposure modes.”
-”the new Wireless File Transmitter WFT-E3A permits wireless transfer and back-up”
-sRAW or small RAW
-3.0″ LCD
-6.5 FPS
-EOS Integrated Cleaning System
-14bit A/D conversion

Interesting specs! ;)

Im back to Manila. My family and I went to an overnight trip to La Union my mothers home province. We went there because of my Apong (Lolo in Ilocano) I drove 6 hours straight Manila to La Union and experienced hella of a traffic La Union to Manila with my wife, son, mom, ninang, cousin & apong. We didnt know that theres a typhoon friday morning when we were about to go back home to Manila.

Of course whenever or wherever I go I shoot everything that interests me, specially subjects that can be a good addition to my stock & fine art photo collection. Although It drizzles intermittently I managed to took some, I even played with the rain. :D (pun intended)

Tonight Il post some, I just need to do my backlogs first. ;)

Here are some of my photo itinerary.

  • People around
  • Some welcome Arches of Ilocos region
  • Manaoag
  • Farming La Union

Panning at night

Posted by tekgik under Nightscape, Sports, Tips & Tricks

Its quite challenging to have more shutter speed at night, again praises with the low noise levels of the Canon 5d, I managed to have an adequate shutter speed to have a decent panning of this motor cycle.

I prepared my self to click on it before he gas up more.

Another 2.0 GB Sandisk Extreme III Card

Posted by tekgik under Tech, kaBlog

It has arrived.. my new 2gb Sandisk Extreme III CF card. This is my 3rd 2gb sandisk card additional to 4 pcs 2gb 150x Ridata CF’s. Well why I don’t have full confidence with my Ridatas anymore since I’ve hear a lot of horror stories but still I haven’t experienced it with my camera. But im trimming down the possiblities and probably migrate to all the way sandisk very soon.

I find an interesting difference from my old to the new sandisk CF. See below.

2gb-sandisk.jpg

Old on the left bought May 2007 from Singapore, new one on the right Aug. 2007 from Hong Kong.

This maybe of help for you. WhatI noticed are 1. The hologram color of the word “extreme” is gold (old), silver (new) same goes with the “ESP technology” plus its new location on the right. Im a little confused about it but I don’t find any resemblance that it is fake (reference here).

BTW Cf cards are now dirt cheap nowadays especially the Ridatas but be careful and take caution because it has incompatibilities on some cameras.

PAGASA said;

Tropical Cyclone Update
As of today, 10 August 2007 no tropical cyclone existing within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

Gale Warning
Issued at: 5:00 a.m., Today, 10 August 2007
The southwest monsoon surge induced by Tropical Depression “WUTIP” and the low pressure area which was estimated at 600 kms northeast of Basco, Batanes (23.6°N 127.0°E) is expected to affect the seaboards of Luzon and the western seaboard of Visayas.

Chedeng (Pabuk) & Dodong (Wutip), the local names of these typhoons. Sadly these two typhoons left some casualties and disaster.

I think God answered our “oratio imperata ad petendam pluviam” aka “obligatory prayer to request for rain” .

Lets now pray for the opposite.
