New 19″ LCD

Posted by tekgik under Tech, kaBlog

Last friday my old 17″ mitsubishi diamondtron CRT monitor retired of working normally. I was pushed to buy a new display which gave me pleasant pleasures. A 19 incher Viewsonic wide format LCD. Dont be jealous it is just under P15,000 yeah LCD have come down to the level of affordability. Im enjoying every single minute of using it. It has 1440×900 resolution designed for photographers and graphic artist. Sharp and colors are accurate. Its comparable to apple laptops screen.

Heres the model i bought   Nahhh not the black one, i bought the silver color because they dont have a stock of the black one. The model is Viewsonic VA1912w. :)

Posted by tekgik under Nightscape, Travel

From the streets of Nathan road Hong Kong, I captured the evening views of the city, I shot them with less shutter speed or increased ISO. And yes I was satisfied shooting nightscapes in Hong Kong! You can also see some night scenes from this lively country

Back in PH

Posted by tekgik under People, Travel, kaBlog

Back to the Island of the Philippines! Ah yes our HK gettoway is over, we came back home last tuesday and been busy doing things for our business. Its tiring because we only have 3 days and 2 nights, the schedule was so cramped, tour in the morning then shopping at night. Disneyland was nice, my wife and son enjoyed it as well as yours truly. I made some real nice nightscapes there that il be posting soon! Im very happy with that shoot. The food in Hong Kong is not cheap it almost doubles the prices in Mc donalds meal and public transportation compared to the Philippines. Whats cheap in Hong Kong is the gadgets (the electronic goods) Mong Kok is a mecca of gadgetries. I took home pouches, filters and some accessories. I wasn’t able to look for apple computers. We also didn’t have the time to watch the light symphony at Victoria Park. Well Im planning to go back there this year if ever i get a good bargain on airline ticket.

Ok heres the DAY 1 photos of our travel.

My love of my life at the airplanes window… Raffy was extremely excited

The train transfer to the other side of the airport.

We need to fill this up for the immigration

The double decker bus outside Cheng Lap Kok Int’l Airport

Our free breakfast at Mc Donalds

Cable cars at Ocean Park

Il add my first nightscape in Hong Kong later this morning.. watch out for it ;)

Hahaha im not quite sure what to buy or where to buy, my friends are helping me pointing out the good areas for photography equipment shopping. We all know that Hong Kong is one of the best or should I say cheapest place to buy photography stuff too bad that i dont have anything to buy except for some small items in mind.

My Hong Kong buy list

-ET 67 100mm macro lens hood

-RS 80N3 remote trigger

-Lowepro speedster camera strap

-Lowepro Snaptop AW

-Cokin P Series Filter System

-Neutral and Graduated Density Filters (ND8)

-Tripod collar for my 70-200 f2.8 Sigma

-And Macbook Core 2 Duo (hahaha how i wish) :D

Im hoping for good weather as always so that i can bring lots great photos ;) And of course so that we can enjoy the mini vacation.

The entire Hong Kong images will be added to my stock photo collection.

What a great evening!

Posted by tekgik under kaBlog

Last night was one of the time that ive been waiting, to patch things up with a friend. He apologized for what he has done wrong, and I apologized as well. Ohh you wont believe how very happy I am now. I feel very light and easy. This proves that differences and miscommunications should be done in a orderly-civilized-diplomatic-peaceful manner.

So if you have miscommunications with a friend, try to talk to him/her I know that with humility and honesty all conflicts will sort out. This is going to be a very nice week for me :)

Cape Santiago, Parola, Calatagan, Batangas

Posted by tekgik under Travel, kaBlog

This is one of the reason I joined the Calatagan group of Miss Earth. To capture the monumental tower of Cape Santiago.

I was hoping that it is more aesthetically pleasing than Cape Bojeador of Bangui, Ilocos Norte. It is good that they renovated it, but i think it would put more heritage if they restore the original brick tiles and stones. Anyway my personal project of shooting all the lighthouses of the Philippines was down to two and many more to go…
From Golden Sunset Resort, Cape Santiago is 30 to 45 minutes away. We woke up early 5am in the morning to catch magic light, along the way there are too many beautiful landscapes and interesting subjects to shoot. I saw two carabaos on top of the hill with the sunrise behind. I quickly stop the car and opted for a shoot. The road to Cape Santiago is quite rough fortunately the car I brought was high enough for the said terrain.
Theres funny story here with my kumpadre Ken, you see those two cows in front of the tower? We were bullied by these two live meats, we thought they are tied somewhere in the grass. These two cows was territorial they dont like us shooting there and after a few more minutes the young cow approached Ken then followed by the other one with the horn. Im just a meter away from Ken, Ken was slowly making an escape and so do I. We were talking to each other while we start to run because we dont know if they will continue to attack us if we run. Well luckily we are unharmed and right now as I post this Im ROTLMAO :D :D :D goddamn we were laughing to death from what happened… :D

Lesson of the story don’t underestimate cow heads :D
